I am a commercial photographer & don’t often sell or exhibit photographs. Is PhotoHIVE for me?
PhotoHIVE is designed for photographers whose primary product is the print. It does have features to document shoots, keep track of quotes, and invoice for non-photographic items such as shoot fees or image licensing. However, if you are looking for a database for the primary purpose of organizing shoots and images associate with a shoot, PhotoHIVE is probably not what you need.
Will my database be accessible from my phone or tablet?
The database is currently designed for laptop and desktop computer. Most of the database is tablet friendly but we have not yet created mobile views designed specifically for the smaller size screens of phones and tablet.
Do you have plans to further develop PhotoHIVE?
Yes! We are always working to make PhotoHIVE better and have many additional features in the works that will soon be added to the database. And, the more we learn about the needs of our users, the more we will be able to improve the database. Updates are free and frequent.
How is PhotoHIVE different from other software that I’ve seen for artist or collection management?
Existing databases that are designed for artists, collectors, or dealers were created for the management of multiple unique items. However, most photographers do not create unique items. Rather, a photographer's product consists of multiple copies of the same image, usually in limited editions. A database that can successfully manage this kind of product requires a unique structure that is specific to photography. And that is why we created PhotoHIVE.
How will I access my database?
Users access their database at photohive.buzz and enter their username and database to login.
Do I need to download software to use PhotoHIVE?
No software required! All you need to access your PhotoHIVE database is an internet connection, the Google Chrome browser, and your login info.
